Water Quantity

Lake Simcoe receives water from its 35 tributaries, direct precipitation on the lake and direct groundwater discharge to the lake. In order to quantify phosphorus loadings, surface water and atmospheric inputs have been the focus of monitoring efforts in the watershed. The Ministry of the Environment, Environment Canada, and the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority undertake these monitoring activities and share information between the LSEMS partner agencies.
