Education / Outreach
The Lake Simcoe Environmental Management Strategy (LSEMS) provides opportunities for those that live, work and play in the Lake Simcoe watershed to learn about the health and quality of Lake Simcoe and the lands that form its drainage basin, initiatives to protect this resource and progress to date on the LSEMS Implementation Program.
Since 1990 LSEMS education and outreach programs have included; symposiums and workshops, watershed tours, publications, media relations, educational videos, outreach to community groups and schools, and display at watershed fairs and festivals. The LSEMS program has also learned a lot about the people who enjoy the opportunities that Lake Simcoe provides them.

- Everyone that lives, works or plays in the Lake Simcoe watershed are eager to learn about the issues, science and solutions.
- People want information from the scientists, researchers and technical experts translated into simple terms so that they can put this information to work. People want to become part of the process of restoring the health and quality of Lake Simcoe.
Through its education and outreach program, LSEMS goal is to have all people and all communities feel a connection to Lake Simcoe.
